Sungguh sebak.Akhirnya I found time to visit the place of a great artist.William Shakespeare.He came frm a well-to-do family.His dad tukang buat gloves..waktu tu the demand for gloves was high..they believed diseases could go straight to the body via the skin so esp. org kaya2..gloves were necessary.
WS's dad pun pandai cari isteri kaya..Mary Arden.Arden forest was a thick forest of oak trees..habis ditebang utk buat rumah etc but paling byk dipunahkan utk buat kapal esp kapal perang zaman Elizebeth 1.
Garam sgt terkenal di rantau ini and it was a symbol of wealth.Org kaya akan sengaja letak jar garam dia di ruang tamu dekat fireplace to flaunt their wealth to guests.Garam digunakan to preserve food,as antiseptic dan perasa makanan.Semua benda dibyr dgn garam and tht's where we got the word 'salary'..dari kata asal salt.
I love this plc.Rasa nak duduk sini lama2.
We caught a RSC play by my other fav playwright,Christopher Marlowe.The play was Jew of Malta.Brilliant work.Nik said he enjoyed it too.I teach tht text. :)
