Dr. Amani and I pi attend an NGO meeting on community-based social enterpreneurship.Patut kejap je but there were a lot of brainy people offering solutions so the meeting went on till 5 pm.Mmg exciting and we were in a room in which we shared the same passion and fire for stuffs we believed in. Pas tu I had to drop Dr. Amani at the lrt station.Jam giler but I made it before berbuka.

I will be given a talk on social entrepreneurship in October during a national conference. Sepatah habuk tak tahu pasal SE. Too many definitions and approach. Orang ni cakap macam ni, orang tu cakap macam tu. Lantaklah. I prefer focus aje la kerja kita be it ada SE elements ke idak. Senang ikut cakap Seth Godin ni, it's a spectrum not label.

Social enterpreneurship is definitely NOT charity...it's business with social ROIs.The meeting I attended on community-based social enterprises took it to a different level.While the former is more at individual level, the latter is centred around community and segala stakeholders yg terlibat.It should be more inclusive - women, children, elderly, kaya, miskin, dll.10% of profits must go back to the community.If you know Paul ( who has been working with poor people all of his life), you'd be impressed how his communities (which he coaches) tak bergantung kpd duit lain cos' they have saved enough (collectively) to finance needs of their children to study etc.
i'm learning too.
