Tazkirah

Masih jetlag folks.Z and I sama2 jetlag so we are still doing our teraweh at home.InsyaAllah besok kita mula ke surau.I told Nik and Z lain kali seminggu sebelum Ramadan, jgn kita ke mana2. We need the stamina to do extra ibadah.Kena simpan energy tu for Ramadan.

Semalam di surau, hanya ini hasil yg dibawa suami saya - dari sepucuk flyer yg diedarkan oleh ustaz penceramah (saya petik yg saya tersentuh):

Berkata Jubair bin Abi Sulaiman bin Jubair bin Muth'im: Aku mendengar Abdullah bin Umar berkata,"Rasulullah saw tidak pernah meninggalkan doa-doa ini di waktu pagi dan petang:

"Ya Allah, aku mohon keselamatan kpd Mu di dunia dan akhirat.Ya Allah, aku memohon keampunan dan keselamatan kpd Mu dlm urusan agama, dunia, keluarga dan hartaku.Ya Allah, tutupilah keaibanku dan hilangkanlah rasa takutku.Ya Allah, jagalah diriku dari arah depan, belakang,kanan, kiri dan dari atasku, aku berlindung dengan keagunganMu dari terpedaya dari arah bawahku yakni gempa/kehinaan." (HR Imam Ahmad)

Suka baca pasal ikan pun doakan org yang berpuasa and also Allah kata Dia sendiri will take care of ibadah puasa kita...malaikat tak perlu catit.Besarnya ibadah puasa Ramadan ini!

Ramadan kareem

Masih jetlag..me and my gal so kita teraweh kat rumah je dah dua malam. :( I went to work to clear some stuffs today...the plc was deserted.Masa balik terperangkap dgn a group of monkeys again.At every level.I mcm filem James Bond...nmpk laluan on 3rd floor tak clear so I took the staircase to level two.Nmpk mcm dah selamat tiba2 one monkey tunggu I kat tingkap.Very vicious looking.I terkejut, dia terkejut.I looked and said please, please go away...pls don't hurt me.Haha.Takut woh..UIA tengah cuti...makanan takda..mrk lapar! I baca doa Nabi Musa...mongkeyy tu turned away, found a dried leaf to chew on,..I took the staircase and went on the long way to tne carpark.Nasib the carpark clear.Phew...cabaran Ramadan hari pertama.

But I completed all my assignments due this month.Syukur alhamdulillah...thousands more to go.Lama sgt cutinya.Not fair that I could not even go on 14 days' leave undisturbed.Cuti berlambak tu I nak lelong kat mana ya?It's a funny rule that we aren't allowed to use up our leaves while uni is in session.

Potluck iftar at Faisal's.We didn't buy at the bazaar.I think inilah nekad kita this Ramadan.Jgn beli di bazar Ramadan.

Stopped over at Sal's and didn't like what I saw with Irshad's latest.Looks like everyone has given up on life.It looks like it's taking its toll on Sal.I hope she will be tough melalui ujian Allah.Besok I will see when I can take Irshad to see Dr. Kadeer.He has to toughen uplah sikit...it's definitely easier said for us yg tidak mengalami trauma cancer ni.

Semua orang dah terlalu penat and yet, feel sad that family holiday is coming to a closure.Bag dah beranak pinak...ada extra kotak somemore (letak baju belum basuh). Z's mother's day gift seberat 4 kg tu I tak berani bawak balik ...takut excess luggage.She can mail it out to me later.Fruit juicer.I nak yg kecik bkn juicer org buat berniaga tu.Sigh.

Anyway, the Tunisian taxi driver took us on a different route of the Peak District..punyalah cantik permandangannya.He stopped to allow me to take some pics.

Then here we are, HOME! Alhamdulillah sampai malam so not so hot.Sepjg flight tu there's this Msian woman travelling with her spoilt brat child (about 2 or 3) yg menjerit2 non stop sepjg flight.Semua org fed up.One Msian woman said malukan Msia je ...perangai anak mcm tu.And the mother takda usaha nak pacify the child.She looked a bit stoned.Maybe suaminya tinggal kat UK, belajar.The flight attendant pun buat tak tau.Kalau MAS flight attendants..mesti mrk pi tanya kabar and will try to help agar others could hv a good nite sleep.Nasib after transit kat Abu Dhabi kejap, she and child didn't share the same section on flight to KL.Ketidak..pengsan kita tak boleh tidur.

Nasi lemak Sheffield

At last I got to cook nasi lemak! Rendang ayam (from yes..you guessed it right...from Brahim's). Nasi lemak tu is for Z, Afiq and Sab sbb the rice I cooked tak cukup for 5 people.Kesian pulak ke budak bertiga tu.Sab has just gotten her results for her law degree and will be going to Queen Mary in London to do her Master's.Peramah anak saudara Daim ni (very humble too).Her fiance is here to help her pack.Next year nak kawin.Nampak mcm a good pair (tertib dan bersopan santun) and kita doakan mereka dirahmati Allah ke akhir hayat.Z's other flatmates ada yang dah balik Msia for summer, ada yang travel ke Europe (there are 4 in the apt).Sab will stay back till her mom comes for her graduation in July.

Oban

If you are ever this way, tak payah pergi ke Oban.Over-rated betul tempat jin bertendang ni.Atau we were so spoilt by Drobak-Oscarsborg, Stockholm dan Paris? Kita cuba ambik boat ke Isle of Mull...tapi I had promised to dine with a Msian family mlm ni so if we took the boat, tak sempat balik.Takut dia dah susah pyh memasak.Student PhD.I know wht it is like: making time for tetamu dlm keadaan serba kekurangan esp time.So we kensel je the Mull trip.Then we thought ambik je boat 1  hour pi tengok seal colony but the skipper kata dah tutup for the day.Hari baru pukui 4 pm and it's summer.Apa ke ngok ngat dia org ni malas kerja?

Depa tak reti behave as a tourist centre...serba serbi service lousy.Don't waste your time coming here.The only thing we enjoyed was the trip from Stirling to Oban via the Trossachs National Park.Now that was beautiful.And I enjoyed meeting a local painter, Marianne.Bought two of her prints,autographed by her.And that Polish guy who gave me extra mussels.The seafood pun tak sedap mana (and mahal).

I just want to go home now.

The Scottish Homecoming

Nik made a return to Stirling after almost 23 years.A lot has changed..the highway, the uni, the city (township more like it).

We had dinner at an Indian restaurant sbb kita dah muak dok mkn fish and chips je.The restaurant served halal meat/chicken (one of the workers was a Pakistani who had worked in KL for a bit..gamaknya betullah KL ni transit plc for migrant workers sometimes read trafficked human beings).Anyway...makanan dia tak sedap...three dishes semua rasa and looked similar!Bila time mkn, I miss home sesangat.

I miss my mother. Sebenarnya ada masa when I shopped I picked up stuffs for her then teringat dia dah takda.Usually when I travel mcm ni, I would buy her things.Sampai je ke UK, terasa betul kehilangannya (sebab holiday pun dah habis dan waktu pulang sudah hampir). Travelling to Scotland brought back memories with her.She went up to Glasgow when we were here and my kadi bro in law had a short course in London.My aruah sister and mom came over for a holiday and we took them to Liverpool where I was and Nik drove them up to Scotland.Happy days.
